What I'm doing right now as per 20 August 2023.
Decluttering
After
my last project ended, I have lots of time in my hand to take a break
and re-assess my surrounding. What I noticed the most is that how much I betrayed my minimalism principle:
buying things at random. Call it a stress-buying impulse. Work was
dizzying for the past one year, and meeting new packages boosted those
under-produced dopamine. Hell yeah, a present for me.. from me! Thank
you, me, for appreciating what me do to survive.
Anyway, I took this opportunity to check every stuffs I have, reassessing their function. Things I no longer needed I either gave it away or donate. Not many got thrashed since its still work fine.
I also declutter my digital space and collections. Notes, e-books, digital comics, wishlist, YouTube watch later, Pockets articles, bookmarks, Goodreads reading list, movies watching list. It's actually even more tiring to sort out the digital life than the physical stuffs. I realized that a lot could change in a span of one year, I let go of many things because it no longer interesting or desireable. My priority has changed.
It's quite fun to notice the changes within myself, and I do hope it is for the better.
People tying the knots
One of my high school best friend got married in June. I had the blessed opportunity to meet up with old friends, reminiscing good stuffs, reconnecting. Most of my close circle pals don't have plan to marry yet in the near future so when one of us tied the knot, it's a celebration that made me feel a little lonely. I'm happy that they're happy (and they are), it's like letting them entering another dimension. It's not that I lose my friend, but definitely less time to hang out.
Just another adult life fun fact, I guess.
Jobhunting 🏹 💼
I worked for a 5-year grant project in deforestation, carbon emission, and community development Forest Investment Program 1, which ended on June 2023. Time to re-join the hunters club. Let's polish the weapons: CV, resume, interview practice, and the newest craze in the last 10 years... online course certification.
Well, learning new skills never hurt, though seriously, I thought jobseeking competition could never be more tighter. Anyway, I'm currrently open for a full-time and/or project-based opportunity in sustainable development and environmental sector 🍀
Finished a Mandarin Chinese course
Post
pandemic, it was nice to finally joined an offline course with classic
classroom setting and a small number of students, enhancing focus. The
atmosphere was really easygoing, meeting new people, no pressure, just
learning (and cracking jokes that made our teacher sighs helplessly). I
went from long-forgotten 6 years of school lesson + Duolingo-boosted
vocabs, to following simple conversations. Wouldn't manage to improve
the active side of learning this language (speaking and listening) by
myself. Big thanks to my 老师 and 同学 and Jakarta Mandarin for this experience!
Still all hail Giant Killing
It's 59! *cheer*
What's worse than Kubota's injury? Tsubaki's! 😭
Only the injury is on the heart and mind so it hurts but doesn't bleed *cry in Amaterasu*
He's recovering though, and I'm more than happy to continue supporting him.
ALSO AKEMI YOSHIMURA SENSEI PUBLISHED NEW SERIES A;LKSDJFASDJHFALSJDH OF COURSE I BOUGHT IT THE INSTANT I SAW IT
Just The Two of Us, another unique romance and slice of life joining my collection *chefkiss*
And mooooore reading 🔥
I've decided to utilize Google Playbook for e-books.
And I'm halfway failing this year's reading target since I've been hopping between five books but haven't managed to finish any of them. It's difficult to rebuild a habit once it's gone, but hey, slow progress is a progress 🚀
